About

if you’ve ever tried to read this “About” page before, you know I haven’t provided any useful information here for anyone who is curious about the identity of the author. i think this is mainly because i am sooo ambivalent about the public/private space that is the blog. plus, what does the “About”-clicker actually want to know about me? if it’s not here, leave me a comment and i’ll – well, i’ll read your comment for sure.

i’m the inhabitant of a huge, grandiose, provincial, stimulating, atomizing, dense, exhausting and amazing city. i spend my work hours as a registered nurse. have been a community health nurse for nearly 4 years, working in home care. but as of early 2009 will be changing to the emergency department in a private urban hospital, so you’ll be reading about that transition soon!

i write, obviously, on this blog, and also creatively. literary themes are cropping up most lately in posts about medical humanities/narrative medicine. the other thing this blog is sort of about is travelling, which i do whenever possible. random reflections round it out.. so, that’s the gist of who i am and what you’ll find here.

at any rate, you are most welcome!! thanks for stopping by.

    dear swallow,
just checked the weather for your final destination. hope you have a lot of sunscreen b/c the uv index is in the high range. the anticipated shock to the body must be exceptional leaving metropolis at 36 degrees and chilly rain.
the clientele of the school sounds like it will be stimulating, if you get to meet any of them. and the rigors of the schedule appears breathtaking to an old geezer.
    may God be with you.
